Russ

Thank you for visiting callruss.com and learning more about me!  I am a Residential Mortgage Advisor with PERL Mortgage.   I created this blog to provide objective content about financing and buying homes in the Chicago area to help you cut through all the BS.   I specialize in working with professionals buying homes in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.  However, I do have the capability to lend in most states.

Because most my clients come to me by referrals, my approach is to educate them about their largest financial transaction.  I believe in developing comprehensive mortgage plan that fits into their short and long term financial goals.  My greatest satisfaction is establishing long term, trusting relationships with my clients.

For the past several years, I have been a featured speaker at several top graduate schools around the country including the University of Chicago, Northwestern University (Kellogg), Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, University of Michigan Business School, and others.  I have also been frequently quoted in the press on mortgage related issues.

My approach is very straight forward  – no games or gimmicks.   If you are looking for me to hard sell you with the “lowest rates in town” gimmicks, I probably will disappoint you.  However, if you want to work with an established professional who is ethical, consistently delivers, and is knowledgeable about mortgages and how they will fit in to your specific situation, then don’t hesitate to Call Russ!  I would be honored to work with you.

Prior to diving into residential lending, I worked as a management consultant for Deloitte Consulting in their Strategy & Operations practice focusing on new product development, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management.   My clients were the upper level executives of F500 companies spanning a number of industries from transportation to construction.

I received my Bachelors of Arts (BA) from Morehouse College in business administration and my Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in marketing and entrepreneurship from Northwestern (Kellogg).

I have been happily married for nine years to my lovely wife, Becca.   I am also the proud parent of a spoiled rotten Shi-Poo, Brownie.   I now call a small renovated bungalow in Oak Park home, but I still frequently shop and dine in Chicago.

In my spare time I enjoying reading science fiction, video games, cycling, and racing 1/8th scale off road RC cars.   I am also an avid traveler and always looking for great weekend getaways.   I am an also an active volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Chicago and I also conduct admissions interviews for Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
